Job Summary
Production Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Production Maintenance Department.  They are responsible for Production Maintenance Technicians carrying out their responsibilities for change-overs, building, maintaining, repairing and designing production equipment and tooling. The Production Maintenance Manager maintains an inventory of replacement parts for production equipment. The Production Maintenance Manager is responsible for the safe operation of TeamMates and equipment in the department.   

Core Responsibilities
Management & Administration - responsible for the overall management of the Production Maintenance department including Preventative Maintenance, Repairs, Projects and Tooling.
  • Ensures all Teammates are properly trained to do all assigned work safely and that all required training is kept up to date.
  • Administers and coordinates for the Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Leads a work order system to initiate and track repairs to equipment
  • Leads projects from concept to completion for new equipment, tooling, etc. 
 
           
           
Project Management- responsible for managing large projects. Works with Production and Engineering to coordinate and implement the purchase and startup of new equipment.
  • Leads Capital Projects with cost and justification for equipment and tooling
  • Facilitates, evaluates and makes adjustments during new equipment run offs to verify equipment meets specifications
  • Trains Production Supervisors on new equipment & tooling
 
Supervision - responsible for staffing, managing and supervising the performance of a Team of Technicians on 3 shifts that provide maintenance support to the Production Department.

  • Manages work flow of Production Maintenance
  • Leads, coaches, counsels and problem solves with TeamMates
  • Ensures quality and completeness of work
  • Develops Technicians skills and abilities to support both departmental improvement and personal develop of the team
 
Equipment and Tooling - responsible for maintenance of  all decoration and assembly equipment, auxiliary equipment and production.
            Ensures that Equipment is repaired in a timely manner.
            Manages equipment change-overs
            Schedules Preventative Maintenance
            Procures tooling for new and existing products
            Ensures all equipment is free from safety hazards
            Ensures that equipment and tooling produces parts without quality defects
 
Continuous Improvement
  • Leads the team to work with a continuous improvement mindset to be allows looking to identify and implement actions that:
    • Improve Safety
    • Reduce Change Over / Set Up Times
    • Reduce Breakdowns
    • Reduce Micro Stops
    • Reduce Machine Cycle Times
    • Improve Product Quality / Reduce Scrap & Rework
    • Increase Equipment and Tooling Flexibility and Adaptability
