Whirley is looking for a Technician I!

Job Summary
The primary duties of this position will be performing set-ups, adjustments, changeovers, repairs, and trouble-shooting Production equipment.  Performing routine maintenance including replacing worn components, lubrication, cleaning, lock-out/tag out are also a requirement.


Responsibilities
  •  Review daily MTR’s and repair the equipment accordingly.Complete MTR’s (machine trouble reports) by describing work done.
  •  Complete painting work and repairs to existing and/or new equipment as needed.
  •  Perform general housekeeping duties in production engineering areas of the production floor as directed by supervisor.
  •  Help maintain replacement stock of parts for decoration, assembly, and workshop machines.
  •  Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on assembly and decoration production machines or other equipment.Work closely with machine operator to obtain information needed to assess equipment problems.
  •  Evaluate performance of existing equipment and makes adjustments to maintain the highest rate of production and quality possible.
  •  Design and build jigs and workstations for workshops.
  •  Coordinate with Engineering to design and build new support equipment to facilitate continuous improvement.
  •  Have basic electrical knowledge in order to be capable of replacing electrical plugs, switches, and motors


Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge of the proper use of power and hand tools.
  • Have the ability to work safely and with minimal supervision.
  • One (1) to two (2) years’ experience working in a maintenance environment.
  • Have a strong mechanical and basic electrical knowledge.
  • Experience in assessing problems associated with the equipment, be able to identify problems, and make the necessary repairs.
  • Have basic computer skills and be able to communicate with email and write procedures using Microsoft Word.Skilled in used of lathe, mill, welding, and cutting tools preferred
