JOB TITLE: Assembler / Maintenance Technician Hybrid
DEPARTMENT: Assembly
REPORTS TO: Decoration and Assembly Team Leader
SUPERVISES: None
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt/Hourly

JOB SUMMARY

Load and/or operate a variety of machines used to assemble product for shipment. Performs adjustments, changeovers, repairs, and troubleshooting on production equipment. Performs routine and/or preventative maintenance as directed including replacing worn components, lubrication, cleaning, and lock-out/tag out. Performs work in a team environment. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct, especially relating to safe work practices.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all duties assigned to Assembler I with an emphasis evaluating the performance of existing assembly equipment and adjusting to maintain TeamMate safety, the highest rate of production possible, and outstanding quality.
  • Communicate with Shift Team Leaders as to equipment needing repaired and priority to keep equipment running.
  • Able to change over assembly equipment.
  • Makes Mechanical, Pneumatic and Electrical Repairs to all Assembly equipment as needed.
  • Completes Work Orders (WO) as assigned. Repair equipment, communicate parts used/needed, document by describing work done.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on assembly equipment as assigned.
  • Possess basic electrical knowledge capable of making general repairs to electrical circuits and components and replacing electrical plugs, switches, and motors.
  • Ensure the work area is properly cleaned after repairs.
  • Perform tasks at an acceptable level based on quality, speed and effectiveness of work.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to understand machine operations.
  • Ability to work independently and make quick decisions.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting ability / mechanical aptitude.
  • Good manual dexterity and color discrimination.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
  • Prolonged repetitive motion of wrists / hands.
  • Frequent lifting up to 45 pounds.
  • Frequent pulling, pushing, and lifting.
