JOB TITLE: Assembly Line Leader
DEPARTMENT: Decoration and Assembly
REPORTS TO: Decoration and Assembly Team Leader, Assembly Team Leader
SUPERVISES: None
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt Hourly
JOB SUMMARY
Trained to operate and make minor adjustments to equipment on a specified production line whenever that line is scheduled. Strives to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity by quickly identifying and correcting common issues. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identifies and corrects common mechanical problems that occur while running production.
- Directs work assignments of TeamMates on the line to minimize downtime and increase productivity.
- Monitors production for known quality issues
- Ensures all TeamMates on the line are working in a safe manner and are aware of any potential safety issues.
- Accurately read work orders to ensure that correct components are being used. Inform Assembly Team Leaders if there are errors in the components supplied to the workstation.
- Accurately capture order information by scanning production labels and entering rejects into the shop floor system
- Perform quality checks at designated quantities and report failures to the appropriate Team Leader.
- Properly accounts for, and disposes of, rejected material.
- Perform tasks at an acceptable level based on the manufacturing standards.
- Assist with training of new TeamMates.
- TeamMate must be at “Mastery” level on Lines with Skills Training Matrices
- Expert on the line who has mentored a TM to the proficiency of Expert level
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
GENERAL CONDUCT
- Maintains respectful working relationship with TeamMates, Decoration and Assembly Team Leaders, Decoration Team Leaders, Production Assistants to promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
- Committed to continual Improvement to raise personal performance to meet and exceeds the standard and to develop new methods to eliminate wastes, improve productivity and reduce customer complaints.
- Maintains excellent attendance as defined in the company’s Attendance Policy.
- Seeks other tasks during downtime and printing machine changeovers, i.e., assisting co-workers when assigned with their duties if they are behind, cleaning machines and work area.
- Supports and complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety and quality.
- Submits new ideas to improve safety, quality and procedural operations that will benefit the company.
- Actively participates in departmental meetings by providing suggestions for improvement, problem solving and offering feedback.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous-manufacturing experience preferred.
- Good reading and comprehension skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of machine operations.
- Must be capable of performing multiple tasks.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Good manual dexterity and color discrimination
