JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist is the primary administrative support position for the Human Resources Team and shares responsibility for supporting the achievement of core HR objectives. This position requires the temperament and ability to work with and absolutely protect the security of confidential and sensitive information. The HR Generalist works closely with the HR Team to identify improvement opportunities and successfully coordinate, execute and complete various projects.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administrative - responsible for preparing memos, letters, reports, presentations, and other documents for the HR Team as needed using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, ADP, and other software. Maintains all departmental records according to accepted standards for timeliness, completeness, orderliness, and in compliance with company and legal requirements, including retention. Performs a variety of tasks as a member of the HR Team responsible for planning and coordinating major company recognition events and TeamMate participation in health and family activities. Duties may include:

  • Developing spreadsheets for aid in record keeping and analyzing various department functions
  • Maintaining both current and terminated TeamMate filing systems.
  • Processing and filing I-9 forms, training files, active and termed TeamMate personnel files.
  • Maintaining ADP system with updated information and HR policies
  • Converting it into an electronic filing system where possible

Employee Relations - responsible for providing support for Employee Relations programs and procedures to develop a positive work environment in which TeamMates can work collectively to achieve high performance in productivity and creativity. Duties may include:

  • Partnering with managers and supervisors in investigation and resolution of situations involving unacceptable job performance and behaviors, and violation of company policies and standards of conduct,
  • Facilitating 30-60-90 day and annual review process with TeamMates and managers

Projects Coordination – responsible for completion of projects which provide the HR Department with a focused capability to improve existing programs and processes, and to develop and implement new ones. Projects will normally be focused on staffing, training, and TeamMate relations but may also include benefits, compensation, and safety. Duties may include:

  • Preparing project plans
  • Securing the information and resources necessary for project completion
  • Creating documents, charts, procedures, and policies
  • Leading project teams
  • Designing and/or delivering education and training related to assigned projects.

HR Core Responsibilities – responsible for a variety of tasks related to staffing, training, and TeamMate relations, core responsibilities and competitive objectives. Duties may include:

  • Involvement in recruitment efforts, communication with candidates and hiring process.
  • Producing and distributing internal company communication material
  • Facilitating orientations for new TeamMates
  • Planning and coordinating company-sponsored events.
  • Working with supervisors, managers and TeamMates to identify HR opportunities for building a sustainable competitive advantage through policies and practices.

 

Related Dutiesresponsible for performing miscellaneous related duties as assigned to support the mission of the HR department and to further personal development.

GENERAL CONDUCT:

  • Builds and maintains respectful working relationships with TeamMates to promote teamwork and a positive working environment.
  • Works with and is exposed to confidential and highly sensitive information.
  • Maintains files of all work products in a well-organized, current manner and in accordance with document retention standards.
  • Maintains excellent attendance as defined in the Company’s Attendance Policy.
  • Collaborates with TeamMates to improve departmental procedures for the benefit of the Company.
  • Supports, enforces, and comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Submits new ideas to improve Safety, Quality and procedural operations that will benefit the Company.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • May supervise 1 – 3 TeamMates.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with the human resources information system, ADP preferred.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, hiring and employee relations; able to apply these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations.
  • Ability to create a culture of diversity, inclusiveness, collaboration, and teamwork.
  • Experience with analyzing data to guide strategic employment planning.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field of study preferred.
