Responsibilities

• Lead the development of a robust, highly participative safety culture through the manner in which duties are planned and executed
• Conduct hazard evaluations, perform regular inspections of facilities and operations for unsafe conditions, and develop solutions to reduce/eliminate risks
• Design and oversee incident investigation process
• Plan, develop and conduct safety training
• Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local legal and regulatory safety standards
• Manage workers comp claims, including influencing the most effective medical treatment and minimizing time away from work
• Plan for and oversee administration of catastrophic and emergency response programs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety and 3+ years experience, or formal safety training/certification (e.g. CSP) and 5+ years experience, leading safety in a manufacturing environment
• Strong PC skills, communication skills, problem-solving skills, and mechanical aptitude are required
• Must be well organized, able to work independently, and very conscientious
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a willingness to work a flexible schedule
