JOB TITLE: Digital Printer Lead
DEPARTMENT: Decoration & Assembly
REPORTS TO: Decoration Team Leader
SUPERVISES: None
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt/Hourly
JOB SUMMARY
Assists Decoration Team Leader by aiding Digital Printers in all aspects of their job.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production:
- Facilitates efficient changeovers between products by either performing the changeover or overseeing other printers.
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of all digital imprint standards and terminology. Stays current with all digital printing procedures and work instructions.
- Strives to ensures that all digital presses are running at recommended maximum rate.
- Able to troubleshoot and correct all known printing issues.
- Ensures all order details are being followed by comparing the printed output to the approved color proof and matching all components to the Work Order. Reports errors or conflicting information to the Decoration Team Leader.
- Helps operators maintain acceptable OEE by meeting expected output, maximizing machine availability, and minimizing scrap.
- Ensures that proper methods of data entry are followed to ensure all time, WIP, and scrap are properly accounted for, and inventory accuracy is maintained.
- Performs routine maintenance as assigned.
- Assesses the need to change print heads and changes out when necessary.
- Can perform digital art approvals
- Runs or oversees all sample orders
- Ensures all packing lines are set up according to the BoM and scales are properly set.
Quality:
- Helps operators maintain quality standards by making recommendations and helping troubleshoot issues.
- Ensures all quality tests at start up (as defined by standard work instructions and company procedures) are met. Spot checks throughout product run to find quality issues and other common problems.
- Strives for zero escape scrap due to print related reasons by retrieving all print scrap prior to downstream operations.
- Ensures reject are placed in proper containers, labeled, and properly accounted for.

- Maintains respectful working relationship with TeamMates, Decoration and Assembly Team Leaders, Decoration Team Leaders, Production Assistants to promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
- Committed to continual Improvement to raise personal performance to meet or exceed standards and to develop new methods to eliminate wastes, improve OEE and reduce customer complaints.
- Maintains excellent attendance as defined in the company’s Attendance Policy.
- Seeks other tasks during downtime, i.e., assisting co-workers with their duties if they are behind, cleaning machines and work area.
- Supports, enforces, and complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety and quality.
- Submits new ideas to improve safety, quality and procedural operations that will benefit the company.
- Actively participates in departmental meetings by providing suggestions for improvement, problem solving and offering feedback.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Solid knowledge of Windows based operating system.
- Ability to understand machine operations.
- Ability to work independently and make quick decisions.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting ability / mechanical aptitude.
- Good manual dexterity and color discrimination.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Prolonged repetitive motion of wrists / hands.
- Frequent lifting up to 45 pounds.
- Frequent pulling, pushing, and lifting.
