JOB TITLE: Inventory Specialist

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt/Hourly

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity within the family of companies. Develop systems to improve reporting accuracy, ticketing accuracy, box count accuracy, scanning accuracy and more, in efforts to achieve exceptional inventory recordkeeping.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cycle Counting

  • Review cycle counting results and look for patterns and significant errors. Use problem solving methodology to drive improved results.
  • Performs reviews of staging locations, negative inventory by location, fractional locations, over-filled locations, empty locations, etc.
  • Reviews production area locations for accuracy on a routine basis and correct results.
  • Count inventory items/locations as assigned, using the IQMS cycle count program or other methods as appropriate. This includes all of Harmar, Molding, Irvine, Sparkle, and other locations that may house inventory.
  • Use powered industrial equipment safely, taking extreme care around pedestrians.
  • Research inventory discrepancies and/or issues as assigned or identified, for example, if an item consistently has a variance, problem solve to determine root cause.

Inventory Variances

  • Review inventory variances and recommend correct adjustments, or directly performs adjustments as authorized
  • Draft a daily explanation detailing the reason for any physical count adjustment >$1,000.

Obsolescence

  • Review small quantity WP, FG, IN, PK for possible obsolescence. Make recommendations and if approved, coordinate disposal and adjustments.
  • Review slow moving inventory and recommend obsolescence where practical. If approved, coordinate disposal and adjustments.
  • Route and process MRBs for obsolescence.

Other

  • Resolve inventory problems in a timely manner.
  • Correct any safety and SQF issues re: leaning skids, broken boxes, etc. as encountered during count process.
  • Assist with planning the annual full facility physical inventory, as applicable.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent with progressive experience in inventory control or cycle counting preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and make quick decisions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
  • Frequent lifting up to 45 pounds.
  • Frequent pushing and pulling.
