JOB TITLE: Supply Chain Project Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY

Completes a variety of projects and performs detailed analysis related to Supply Chain activities. Topics may include leading the development of IT requests and testing new reports and applications; assisting with freight analysis with the goal of reducing cost and improving service; reviewing BOL data, correcting inaccuracies, and suggesting better configurations as appropriate; assisting with inventory management; etc. Works with warehouse supervisors to plan and coordinate inventory storage plans, and reviews warehouse areas to optimize layout and utilization. Reviews customer complaints and checks inventory against complaint data. Identifies process and EHS improvements and works with team to refine and implement the improvements. Develop capital projects for Supply Chain.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Projects and Analysis

  • Completes a wide range of projects related to Supply Chain activities, with the following core focus:
  • Safety
  • Develop and leads safety improvement projects as assigned.
  • Tracks EHS audit findings for warehouse areas and ensures that follow up actions have been completed in a timely manner.
  • Process improvements
  • Develops and leads process improvement projects within the Supply Chain discipline, as assigned.
  • Develops IT system enhancement and report requests as assigned and works with IT to troubleshoot and test results. Works closely with the area lead(s) to ensure that requests fully meet their needs before proceeding.
  • System Data accuracy
  • Works to ensure that things like BOL data are correct and reflect accurate dimensions.
  • Reviews inventory master records to ensure that information is complete through review of various IQ alerts.
  • Freight
  • Reviews market trends through Freight Waves or similar industry journal and prepares quarterly updates.
  • Assists with vetting potential carriers.
  • Works with Finance and Sales to confirm that freight billed or built into unit price has been fully covered. Identifies gaps and escalates to Supply Chain Director.
  • Reviews freight invoices and looks for unexpected accessorial charges, reweigh fees, and cubic capacity fines. Ensures that “ship to” records have accurate information, and that BOL data is correct.
  • Assists with OE activities and idea/Kaizen implementation as assigned.
  • Develops capital project solutions, analysis, and requests. Works closely with the purchasing team to source the solution. Leads project implementation.

Customer Complaints

  • Reviews customer complaints for the following areas: Supply Chain, Supplier, Freight Carrier. Conducts formal problem-solving exercises and determines root cause. Suggests corrective/preventive actions and works closely with the Supply Chain Director, Shipping Supervisor, and Shipping Administration Supervisor to review data and implement actions.
  • Analyzes complaint data in the freight carrier category to determine any patterns with specific customers, products, carriers, etc. and recommends possible solutions.

 

Warehouse Activities

  • Reviews warehouse layout, storage plan, standard work, and systems with the intent to identify improvement opportunities and optimize our operations. Works closely with relevant supervisors and Material Handlers to solicit feedback. Develops, documents, and implements project plans.
  • Assist supervisors with standard work documentation.
  • Promotes a safe work environment, reports safety issues and concerns, and identifies opportunities for improvement.

Other

  • Must be able to work overtime to fulfill the company’s needs.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or closely related discipline strongly preferred, with three to five years of progressive Supply Chain experience.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional analytical and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are a must.
