Job Summary:

Responsible for select domestic purchasing activities. Implements sound purchasing practices that result in timely and economical procurement of capital items, direct materials, buy for resale products, technical parts, and general supplies. Maintains inventories of raw materials. Establishes frozen standards for Whirley/DrinkWorks! raw materials and maintains current standard pricing for raw materials in the IQMS.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and maintains inventory of select materials.
  • Procures capital equipment, supplies, and other items.
  • Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future buying trends.
  • Analyzes market news for key materials and keeps abreast of pricing trends and forecasts.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers.
  • Negotiates pricing, contracts, and supply agreements with suppliers.
  • Prepares sourcing recommendations, project requests, and associated financial analyses.
  • Maintains reorder points, safety stock, supplier pricing, and other information in Company’s ERP system.
  • Issues purchase orders in a timely manner, with thorough details and requirements, terms, and accurate pricing. Ensures that purchase orders have been acknowledged by suppliers.
  • Pro-actively follows up on upcoming deliveries for key materials to ensure that they are on track. Immediately communicates any delays with management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business management preferred.
  • Five or more years of senior level purchasing experience required, with direct material and capital project negotiation responsibilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic math
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must demonstrate logical and sound judgement
